Interest in carbon removal is growing rapidly in North America, and this spring Carbon Centric was present in New York at two key arenas.
On 19 May, the Norwegian Consulate General in New York, together with Innovation Norway, hosted a conversation on Norway's approach to carbon capture, storage and removal. Consul General Jo Sletbak welcomed guests to a panel discussion with Espen Skaar of Carbon Centric, alongside representatives from Inherit and Hafslund. The conversation was moderated by Toby Bryce of the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture, with perspectives from Google – one of the world's largest corporate buyers of carbon removal.
A clear message from the evening: Norway stands out as a country where industrial expertise, decades of offshore experience and political will come together to deliver carbon removal at meaningful scale.
The same week, Espen Skaar attended the Carbon Unbound East Coast conference on 19–20 May, where Carbon Centric connected with industry peers and CDR buyers in the North American market.
