The award is given to initiatives that contribute to concrete climate action and reduced emissions in the Østfold region. This year, a total of 12 candidates were nominated for the prize.

Carbon Centric develops and operates carbon capture facilities with the goal of accelerating the deployment of carbon capture at small and medium-sized emission sources. The company’s first plant is already in operation in Rakkestad, where CO₂ is captured from waste-to-energy incineration.

Through modular technology and new business models, the company works to make carbon capture more accessible and scalable.

“We are proud to receive the Climate Østfold Award. It is a recognition of the work our team is doing to develop and realize carbon capture projects,” says Carbon Centric.

Carbon Centric also congratulates the other nominated projects, Moss Kommunale Eiendomsselskap KF and Møbelgjenbruk i Halden og Indre Østfold, which all contribute to the green transition in the region.
