Kirkenær is a BECCS project in collaboration with Solør Bioenergi at their combined heat and power facility in Kirkenær. The plant burns non-recyclable wood chips, and Carbon Centric will capture the biogenic CO₂, up to 30,000 tonnes per year. Received Enova funding in spring 2025 and passed Puro.earth's Preliminary Assessment in March 2026. Kirkenær is the first project we sell CDR certificates from, as pre-purchases. Planned start-up 2028.
