Carbon Centric was invited to speak at the Tekna CO₂ Conference 2025 in Oslo this week – an important arena for professionals, researchers, and companies working to advance carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Norway.

Our co-founder, Kenneth Juul, gave a presentation on Carbon Centric’s first CCUS project in Rakkestad – one of the world’s first full-scale carbon capture facilities for waste-to-energy plants. The project is currently under construction and is scheduled to begin operations in 2025.
The presentation covered key learnings from the development phase, including technology choices, regulatory hurdles, and business model innovation. Kenneth also shared insights on how projects like Rakkestad can serve as blueprints for scaling carbon capture at small and medium-sized emission sources across Europe.
We thank Tekna for the opportunity to share our story and connect with others working at the forefront of carbon management.
